baptism in the holy spirit, waiting?

After Jesus came back from the dead, he told his disciples something like, "Wait in Jerusalem, until you receive power from God." Why Jerusalem? That's where Jesus was when he came back from the grave. That's where his disciples were at that time.

Problem is - "Wait"? No need to wait, you can ask and receive it now, before going out.

We have to be familiar with all the other things Jesus talked about with his diciples before leaving them and going up into heaven.

He wanted his disciples to go everywhere and tell everybody about himself and how God wants people to believe and receive.

Jesus wanted them to wait for the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit. He wanted them to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit, then go out and tell everyone, lay hands on the sick, cast out demons, raise people from the dead. In other words, first get God's power, the Holy Spirit, then go out and help people in God's power, not our own.

We are so excited after we have asked Jesus into our hearts, and all our sins are gone, and we are born again. But, we must have the power of God to do the works of God. If Jesus, the son of God, had to get water baptized and receive the Holy Spirit from the Father, we do too, even more so. When the Holy Spirit filled Jesus, the Holy Spirit was like a dove. When Jesus baptizes with the Holy Spirit, we're talking flames of fire.

Before we take a long road trip, we like to start with a full tank of gas. If God chose you to walk this long and narrow path with Jesus Christ, you need to be filled with his power before you begin moving down the path.

Receiving the baptism in the holy spirit is not the main purpose - doing God's works is the main purpose. When we have God's power, we do God's works, and have God results, not good results. God ideas, not good ideas.

Jesus said "wait" so his disciples wouldn't run off trying to do stuff in their own strength without the Holy Spirit. We have all done this, with miserable results.

We don't need to wait for Jesus to Baptize us with the Holy Spirit. It's already been promised - the Promise of the Father. We need to ask and receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, if we ask, we will receive. Ask for the Holy Spirit, and we will get the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Wait, wait, wait! Receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit first, then go out and help people, and have God results.

If we want to see what God can do in 2023, look at the Book of Acts in the Bible. Jesus had the Holy Spirit without limit. He did nothing miraculous without the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus told us that we would do even more than he did.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit (1st), do God's works (2nd), then see God's results and thank Him (3rd).

* Don't forget to read all the Bible verses

* Remember, not to wait for the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, but ask for it 1st, receive it, then go do the works of God

* Use your new Holy Spirit language often (i dare anyone out there to have a marathon, speaking their Holy Spirit language for an hour or two, non-stop)

* Remember, it's our spirit that is using the new language directly to God, and our minds can be thinking other things, like thanking and praising God, while we're speaking our new Holy Spirit language
