super typhoon Bavi
We just went through a category 5, super typhoon out here in the Mariana Islands. It was called, "Sinlaku."Still recovering and cleaning up, a small tropical depression (winds only 30 mph) southeast of us, grew into a category 5 super typhoon (165 mph) in just four days.
It's headed right for Rota, where I live! Yikes! Only two days away!
Talking with someone on the phone, was reminded - having faith and trust in God is about going through the storms unshaken.
We cannot forget that when Jesus Christ was in the garden, he prayed, "Remove this cup from me, but your will be done not mine."
Whatever the outcome, we will thank and praise God. But it's OK to come boldly before the throne of grace and make our requests to God. We know all things are possible with God. With faith as the size of a mustard seed, we can move a mountain. We realize we cannot move a mountain, but it's God who actually has the power to move a mountain. That's what faith is, we believe God can do anything.
My mother died of breast cancer at a very young age (55). She started following Jesus when she was 40. The years before her death she believed and had faith that God would heal her.
These days, have heard many testimonies of brothers and sisters being healed of cancer. So, why wasn't my mother healed of her cancer?
In fact, God does not lie, his word is true, and my mother was healed. She has life forever, even now, with Jesus Christ - no cancer, no pain, no suffering, with a new body, just like the one Jesus got when he was raised from the dead, after three days in the tomb.
We will also have the same if we continue faithful and trusting, through all the storms of life.
