1 Peter 3:8 - Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
He's looking for meat to eat - fresh flesh, not fresh fruit.
Galatians 5:22-23: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:16: ...walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
We want to change this Bible verse to read, "do not gratify the desires of the flesh, and you will be walking in the Spirit," which is completely backwards.
So, how do we walk in the Spirit?
We must be born again, first of all.
Acts 2:38 - Then Peter said to them, "Repent and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
The biggest problem isn't getting filled with the Holy Spirit, but how to stay filled with the Holy Spirit, day after day, month after month.
It's easier to be filled with the Spirit, continually, if surrounded by people who are filled with the Spirit, and who love the word of God, and love Jesus with all their hearts. Reading the Bible and praying daily is also a great help.
It's all about FAITH (Forsaking All I Trust Him). You can trust God and His word. Don't give up. He is always there with you.
"I have decided to follow Jesus, I have decided to follow Jesus, I have decided to follow Jesus - no turning back, no turning back."
...from faith to faith, from glory to glory...
